National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Jodhpur took in its first intake of students at a temporary setup in Sojati Gate in the year 2010. It has since shifted to the Karwar permanent campus. Situated in a hub of local craftsmen, merchants, artisans, and the rich cultural melee of Rajasthan, NIFT Jodhpur, provides ample opportunities to work in and learn from real-life experiences. NIFT Jodhpur has also been associated with the State Governments in areas of handicrafts and handloom placement and areas of design as a knowledge provider. Their students also benefit greatly from these initiatives.

The undergraduate courses offered at the NIFT Jodhpur campus are B.Des in Fashion Design, Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories, Textile Design, Fashion Communication; and B.FTech - Apparel Production. All courses are 4 years in duration. The courses are supported by skilled and experienced faculty having extensive industry experience and exposure. They follow innovative teaching methodologies, preparing students for working in fast-paced professional environments. All NIFTs conduct a cumulative admission procedure. Application forms must be filled out online followed by payment of the application fee. The Creative Ability Test (CAT), the General Ability Test (GAT), and the Situation Test round make up the NIFT Entrance Exam. GAT is the selection criteria used particularly for admissions to B.F.Tech. Meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds can apply for NIFT's Means-cum-Merit Financial Assistance plan or for the scholarships given out by the NIFT Development Fund. The NIFTs across the country have a centralized placement cell, which organizes on-campus placements, pre-placement offers, and off-campus placements. Top designers, as well as companies from the FMCG, journalism, and media industries, provide job opportunities to students at NIFT placements. H&M, Bata India Ltd, Raniwala Jewellers Pvt. Ltd, Go Colors, and Decathlon is among the leading companies that recruit from the NIFT campuses. Salt & Spring, Jovi India, Bodice Bodice, Essay, Amita Gupta sustainable, Tailleur, Ma'am Arts, Kenelle, Matrix Clothing, Myntra, Triburg, Fashion Panda, Karnam, Ritu Kumar, Bohame, Almost God, Place the Dot, Khanijo, Leh Studio are among the companies that have offered work experience and job opportunities to students.

To support students in their learning journey, NIFT Jodhpur provides them access to a library containing electronic resources like e-books, e-journals, online databases, trend forecasting services, traditional print books, and other resources. Students gain practical hands-on experience at the Weaving lab, Dyeing and Printing lab, and IT labs. Well-equipped classrooms on campus make learning fun and interactive. The NIFT Jodhpur campus also features a music room, an open-air theatre, air-conditioned auditorium and seminar halls, a gymnasium, and other sports facilities. The Wi-Fi-enabled campus also has medical facilities, a stationery shop, an ATM and a bank, and a number of cafeterias. Resident scholars are provided accommodation at the separate boys' and girls' hostels on campus. Students can also avail of the bus service for commuting.

Admission Procedure

B.Des, B.F.Tech and post-graduate courses are some of the programmes available at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Jodhpur. Aside from that, NIFT Jodhpur offers a variety of Continuing Education Programs (CEP). The NIFT Entrance Exam is used to determine admission to UG programmes. The Creative Ability Test (CAT), the General Ability Test (GAT), and the Situation Test round make up the NIFT Entrance Exam. GAT is the selection criteria for B.F.Tech.

A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required of applicants for admission to the Master of Fashion Management (MFM)  as well as strong performance in the GAT and CAT portions of the NIFT Entrance Exam, which are followed by a round of personal interviews.

Campus Placements at the National Institute of Fashion Technology provides a platform for graduating students from diverse disciplines in two-year postgraduate and four-year undergraduate programmes to achieve their professional hopes and objectives, and consequently requires employer organizations' active and persistent participation. The placement process of NIFTs are centralised. Companies can hire students from any of the NIFT campuses or courses through three channels that the institute facilitates: on-campus placements, pre-placement offers, and off-campus placements. Scholarships

Every year, a significant amount of money from the NIFT Development Fund is put to good use in the area of scholarship. "NIFT's Means-cum-Merit Financial Assistance" plan allows students from low-income families to receive reduced tuition at any of its campuses in order to maximise their potential.
