National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar (NID Gandhinagar) is a premier institute for design and innovation, located in the heart of Gujarat. As a part of its expansion strategy, NID Ahmedabad offers education through three campuses - Ahmedabad Campus (AC), Gandhinagar Campus (GC), and Bengaluru Campus (BC). NID Gandhinagar was established in 2005. The mission of NID Gandhinagar is to become an influential leader in design research - drawing on a localized global landscape - impacting the design of technology in disruptive industries to give rise to new business prospects.

NID Gandhinagar offers a Post-Graduate program in Master of Design (M. Design) with various specializations. For the Master of Design (M.des) program, a candidate has to complete any bachelor's degree or full-time diploma program of at least four-year duration in any specialization-(Fine arts/ Architecture/ Design) with valid marks.

NID Gandhinagar has numerous highly qualified and experienced faculty members. The primary goal of the faculty is to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for students to be successful in their chosen fields. Students receive in-depth guidance on the various aspects of the subject from highly experienced professors with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field. 

NID Gandhinagar has several classrooms, well-equipped with the latest digital technologies, allowing students to explore their creativity. The workshops and studios are equipped with modern tools and equipment, providing students with the opportunity to develop their skills. The Central workshop, equipped with wood and metal cutting machinery, laser cutting and CNC machines, and 3D printing, makes it easier for students to bring their ideas to life. The digital lab and discipline-specific labs/studios help students to explore and develop their creative skills. The Knowledge Management Center provides students with resources and materials to help them stay up to date with the latest developments in the field of design. The campus also has an all-new auditorium which is equipped with the latest audio-visual technology and is the perfect venue for conferences and cultural events. The Design Gallery on campus frequently hosts exhibitions and showcases the works of students and established professionals alike. NID Gandhinagar has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, providing them with a safe and comfortable living space. The student mess serves meals to the students, ensuring that they have the necessary nourishment to stay healthy and energetic. There is also a campus dispensary available to meet any medical needs that may arise. NID Gandhinagar also provides various outdoor and indoor games, besides a gymnasium, to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among its students. Moreover, the ICNF (Innovation Centre for Natural Fibre) at the campus is actively engaged in finding design applications for natural fibers. All of these facilities make NID Gandhinagar a truly unique and inspiring learning environment.

NID Gandhinagar has a specific placement cell that properly functions with the assistance of professionals and mainly focuses on the placement procedure. NID Gandhinagar organizes campus placements every year to allow employers and Post-Graduates to interact with and for companies to find qualified candidates for hiring inside their organizations. Every option to provide students with training and work opportunities is carefully considered by the placement department. Also, the department of placement organizes the yearly industrial interface. the placement department organizes internships. Admission Procedure

National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar offers only a Master of Design (M. Des) degree with various specializations. The admission process at NID Gandhinagar is conducted online process.

For the Master of Design (M.des) program, a candidate has to complete any bachelor's degree or full-time diploma program of at least four-year duration in any specialization—(fine arts, design, architecture), or the applicant must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution in any specialization.

Candidates must pass the National Institute of Design-Design Aptitude Test (NID-DAT) conducted by NID Ahmedabad. After the DAT Prelims, candidates who have been selected will be scheduled to take the stage 2 DAT Mains.
