Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Patna is a government Institution established in 1970 at Agamkuan in Bihar.
The 100-acre Campus is a prominent treatment centre for all specialties in eastern Patna, caring for roughly 2000 patients each day in the outpatient department. The number of patients admitted every day in various departments, casualty, and emergency is likewise very large. The Hospital has approximately 750 beds and a fairly high proportion of bed occupancy. NMCH has a completely computerised centralised registration counter. Medicine is distributed to both OPD and hospitalised patients in accordance with Bihar Government norms. Modern equipment for minimally invasive surgery and Endo Urology is available at OT. Apart from routine medical treatment and care, the Hospital also hosts numerous national health projects, such as the pulse polio immunisation programme.
NMCH offers 1 undergraduate (UG) and 24 postgraduate (PG) courses. The UG course is MBBS, while the PG courses that can be pursued at the College are: Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pediatrics, Pharmacology, Social and Preventive Medicine / Community Medicine, Biochemistry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Forensic Medicine/Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Physiology, Respiratory Medicine, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Radio Diagnosis, Anaesthesiology, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Microbiology, Dermatology and Venerology and Leprosy, General Medicine and Anatomy; and Doctor of Surgery in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopaedics, and Anatomy.
NMCH is approved by the National Medical Council and is affiliated to the Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna.
NMCH strives to provide the best available infrastructure to ensure the proper training and holistic development of the medicos. The three-storied College Library is fully air-conditioned and has a large collection of books on Medicine and allied subjects, as well as the latest editions of multifarious medical journals. NMCH offers three hostels for undergraduate and postgraduate students. There are two hostels for boys and one for girls. These hostels have sufficient bedding capacity and are supplied with amenities such as a mess and proper security. There is additional lodging for post-graduate female students near the Doctors' quarters.
NMCH recognises the importance of an active lifestyle and has provisions for various sporting activities on Campus. Regular classes are conducted in spacious classrooms, and there are multiple specialised cutting-edge laboratories where practical sessions are conducted. The laboratories are in the departments of Biochemistry, Physiology, P.S.M., Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, and Pharmacology. NMCH Patna also has air-conditioned seminar halls equipped with multimedia facilities and a hygienic cafeteria for all to avail.

Eligible candidates who have passed their 10+2 board examinations and have qualified National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) should appear for the counseling procedure to opt for Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, Patna in the course of MBBS.
