Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hooghly (MIET Hooghly), established in 2010, is an AICTE-approved institute offering undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and diploma courses in Engineering. Affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) for the degree courses and West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVE&SD) for the diploma courses, admissions for the BTech courses at MIET Hooghly are done through WBJEE counselling.
MIET Hooghly has a highly qualified faculty and recognises various government scholarships. With the help of the Corporate Relations Team, MIET Hooghly provides placement assistance and training to the students, and many of them have been successfully recruited by ONGC, Krishna Maruti, WBSETCL, Bajaj, Talbros, etc.

The traditional library at MIET Hooghly houses a wide variety of resources to allow students to access the material they need for their studies. Admission Procedure
Admissions to the undergraduate courses at the Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hooghly takes place according to MAKAUT and AICTE guidelines. Students need to pass their 10+2 level examinations with a minimum of 45% marks from a science background and qualify for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) in order to be eligible for admission. Final admissions take place after the WBJEE counselling process. For admissions to the diploma courses at MIET Hooghly, students need to pass their 10th grade examination from a science stream as well as achieve a valid Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal (JEXPO) rank.
