Mizoram University, Aizawl (MZU Aizawl) laid its foundation stone by an Act of Parliament and came to existence on 2nd July, 2001. MZU, Aizawl is located at Aizawl, the capital megacity of Mizoram and is spread over 978.1988 acres in an area on the outskirts of the megacity. Prior to the actuality of MZU Aizawl the North- Eastern Hill University (NEHU) with headquarters at Shillong has its campus. Later, seven Post-Graduate Departments including Economics, Education, English, Forestry, Mizo, Psychology and Public Administration were introduced by the active initiative of the Pro vice chancellor.
In the years, MZU Aizawl has made considerable progress in terms of academic, force, structural aspects. Under the status of autonomy, MZU Aizawl has 33 running academic departments offering undergraduate postgraduate and research programmes across 8 seminaries of Study. MZU Aizawl has one constituent council and 35 combined sodalities. MZU Aizawl is adorned by 208 full time faculty and 76 of the faculty are with Ph.D. qualification. MZU Aizawl aims to provide quality education and to create a diversified pool of highly-skilled professionals. MZU Aizawl follows an online method of admission. Applicants to MZU Aizawl are selected based on their merit and eligibility criteria.
The core of MZU Aizawl is made of its highly qualified and experienced professors, who consistently encourage and mentor students. They take on the duty of ensuring each student's comprehensive growth and development. The faculties strive hard to rear the valuable mission of the institution of raising educational professionals through value-based learning through a pleasurable pedagogy. Admission Procedure
Mizoram University, Aizawl offers admission to students in undergraduate programs with various specialisations. The Students must successfully pass their 10+2 test with the required scores in order to apply to the programs. Final admission will be provided on the basis of merits gained by the individual.
