Medical College, located in Kolkata, was established in 1835 with the major aim to provide vast knowledge and training for students irrespective of caste and creed at a higher standard. The Government institution has been approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college is affiliated with The West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

Students are taught by extremely competent and well-qualified professors who are willing to go above and beyond to ensure that students receive a thorough and cumulative education. They use both theoretical and practical methods to assist students in a better way. The reputed institute offers undergraduate courses such as a 4-year B.Sc Nursing degree and a 5-year M.B.B.S degree.

All students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Candidates get admission to the college based on their marks scored in the entrance exam - NEET UG. The admission process is based on scores obtained in the entrance examination.

Online counselling is conducted for admission purposes. Besides, National Scholarships are available for students. Students are offered internship opportunities at the medical college in due course. The basic amenities provided to students by the college include a large library, separate hostel accommodation, well-equipped laboratories, medical facilities, air-conditioned classrooms and a cafeteria.

Admission Procedure

Medical College, Kolkata’s admissions are conducted through online counselling. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the admission counselling process for the NEET(National Eligibility Entrance Test)-UG-qualified candidates. JENPAS-UG (Joint Entrance Test for Nursing, Paramedical and Allied Sciences Under Graduate Courses) scores are required for admission to the Nursing course. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Most importantly admission takes place when the candidate has a valid score in the NEET-UG. The admission depends on a pure merit basis.

Additionally, MC Kolkata offers a Postgraduate Diploma, Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Surgery (MS), and Doctorate in Medicine (MD). Candidates who want to enrol in any of the PG programmes must have an MBBS degree and be NEET PG qualified.
