Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Haringhata (MAKAUT Haringhata), was established in 2001 by an Act passed by the Government of West Bengal. Initially called The West Bengal University of Technology, MAKAUT Haringhata is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). More than 160 colleges across various districts of West Bengal are affiliated to MAKAUT Haringhata.
Students can pursue 23 undergraduate (UG), 40 postgraduate (PG), 1 postgraduate diploma (PG DIP) and 44 doctorate (PhD) courses for students to pursue. The UG courses offer the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA); while the PG courses offer Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science (M.Sc). Admission Procedure
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Haringhata offers B.tech, B.sc, BBa, BCA, m.tech, MSc, M.tech, MBA, MCa, mPharm, PGD and PhD degrees. Candidates must submit their applications online through the university website. The completed form should be sent along with the required paperwork and payment. Final admission for BSc, MSc, BCA, BBA is based on the marks obtained in CET exam conducted by the university. For B.Tech admission , score of WBJEE exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Board will be used. And, for MTech and MPharm admission, scores of PGET/GATE is used following a Personal Interview (PI).
Direct applications for PhD are accepted from candidates who have successfully completed the M.Phil. programme or passed the M.Phil., M.E., M. Tech., M.D., or M. Pharm. exams, or equivalent exams, as well as those who have cleared the UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE, or teacher fellowship. These candidates' selection will be based on how well they performed in the interview.
