On July 15, 1941, a great expectation of the people residing north of Beadon Street was achieved with the establishment of Maharaja Manindra Chandra College, Kolkata (MMCC Kolkata) at 20, Ramkanto Bose Street, Kolkata-700003. The effort and drive of Dr. Panchanan Neogi I.E.S (Retd. ), a well-known educationist at the time, as well as the kindness of Maharaja Sris Chandra Nandi of Cossimbazar made it feasible. MMCC Kolkata is affiliated with the University of Calcutta and is approved by UGC.
