Founded as a Catholic minority institution back in the year 1925, Loyola College (LC) Chennai, has transformed into a premium college over time. Regarded as one of South India’s oldest colleges, it is empowered to develop its own course of studies besides adopting innovative methods of teaching and evaluation.

At present Loyola College Chennai, offers undergraduate courses like B.A in Economics, English, French, and History; BBA; B.Com in Corporate Secretaryship, Accounting and Finance, Computer Applications; B.C.A; B.Sc in Computer Science, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Visual Communication, Multimedia and Animation; B.Voc in 3D Animation and Digital Journalism.

Loyola College Chennai runs an autonomous campus affiliated with Madras University since 1978. LC is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Besides, receiving a top-class education the students here also have access to a huge knowledge resource centre that is - College Library. The college is also said to have a distinct digital library which can be accessed by the students even beyond the boundaries of the college. Wi-fi facilities are also available for the students to avail. The campus has separate male and female hostel divisions all equipped with necessary amenities. It also provides different recreational spaces and indoor game facilities to both boys and girls separately. Loyola College Chennai conducts online admission. All interested candidates must firstly create an account on the online admission portal and thereafter fill up all the required details. Specific eligibility criteria differ from one stream to another. Nevertheless, passing your 10+2 school leaving examination is mandatory. The final admission takes place after the screening of shortlisted candidates by the college.

Admission Procedure

Loyola College Chennai offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business, Vocation Studies, and Computer Science, in addition to general education courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce. The college offers all courses in the Arts, Science, and Commerce streams in two shifts: Shift I (Government Aided courses whose information is provided in the admission section on the official college website) and Shift II (Self-Supporting). Interested candidates should create an account on the online admissions portal and complete the application form with all the necessary information. All PG programs, as well as VISCOM, B.Com (Hons), BMM (Animation), BBA France, and B.Voc in UG courses, are open to women. Admission would take place after the screening of shortlisted candidates for UG courses. The candidate seeking admission to the Postgraduate course must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized universities.
