Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol (KNU, Asansol) was established in 2013 in memoriam of the rebel poet of India, Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899-1976) with the sole aim of being an institutional body to teach, train and encourage various branches of learning and promoting the advancement of education by extending higher education that is beneficial for the society.

KNU, Asansol offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses with B.Tech, BA LLB, BCom, B.Sc and M.A, M.Sc, M.Phil, and LLM degrees under the Faculty of Arts and fine Arts, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Commerce and Management. KNU, Asansol follows an online method of admission completely based on the merit and eligibility criteria of the applicants. The B.Tech applicants need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). There is an Industry-Institution-Interaction-Cell or IIIC cell in KNU, Asansol that helps to coordinate fruitful interaction to bridge the gap between the industry and the institution and enables the students to shape themselves for the competitive platforms of employment.

Admission Procedure

Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol follows an online method of admission. Admissions to KNU, Asansol is mainly based on the merit and eligibility criteria of the applicants. KNU, Asansol offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses under the faculty of B.Tech, B.A LL.B, B.Com, B.Sc and M.A, M.Sc, M.Phil, and LLM courses. B.Tech applicants need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and accordingly, admission occurs following the rank of the applicants. B.Tech and B.Sc applicants must have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination with 45% aggregate marks in the concerned subjects. B.A applicants must have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination from any stream.

Placements

The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) of Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol is adequately equipped to provide all required assistance for the students and aid them in their search for a fulfilling job. The cell is essential in helping diploma holders and university graduates find appropriate training and jobs. The cell works to provide a wide range of opportunities by establishing connections with other organisations in order to meet the various needs and aspirations of the students. TPC conducts campus interviews for final year students with industries and corporate houses in order to get them recruited. TPC also conducts campus interviews and training in aptitude exams, group discussions, helps in the preparation for Technical and HR interviews, and working with experienced trainers. The Industry-Institute-Interaction Cell (I-I-I-C) of KNU helps to establish purposeful interaction between Industry and institution.



Scholarships

Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol offers scholarships to students based on their merit and eligibility criteria. Prizes and scholarships are provided to students in order to encourage their talent and hard work. Scholarships are granted by the UGC council, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and from State Government. List of Scholarships offered by KNU, Asansol are Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship, Online application for Scholarship in Studies, Free Studentship (Nazrul Scholarship) , Post Graduate and Post Matric scholarships.
