Kanak Manjari Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rourkela (KMIPS Rourkela), was established in 1982 with the primary goal of promoting scientific awareness and long-term development of pharmacy for the benefit of humanity. The emphasis is on stimulating young minds in order for them to innovate and focus on research. KMIPS Rourkela is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and is affiliated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela (BPUT).

Students can pursue 1 undergraduate (UG), 5 postgraduate (PG), 1 diploma (DIP) and 1 doctorate (PhD) courses at KMIPS Rourkela. The UG and DIP courses offered are B.Pharm and D.Pharm respectively, while the PG courses are M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Biology, and Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance. Admission to the B.Pharm programme can be taken by candidates qualifying Odisha Joint Entrance Examination / Joint Entrance Examination-Main / All India Pre-Medical Test, and Odisha Joint Entrance Examination / Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test in case of M.Pharm.

The faculty at KMIPS Rourkela strive to create and disseminate knowledge maintaining the highest standards while pursuing excellence, innovations and inclusiveness.

The Placement Cell provides complete placement assistance and pre-placement training, with students being recruited at companies such as Apollo Pharmacy, Dr. Reddys, Cipla, Ranbaxy, Glenmark, and many more. KMIPS Rourkela provides the necessary infrastructural support to ensure the all-round development of the students.

The Library at KMIPS Rourkela has a large collection of printed texts as well as a digital section, providing members access to a host of e-resources. Students are provided hostel accommodations separately for boys and girls, with the girls' hostel having a lift facility and an in-house canteen.

Regular classes at KMIPS Rourkela are conducted in spacious classrooms, while practical sessions take place in course-specific specialised laboratories. The fully Wi-Fi-enabled Campus of KMIPS Rourkela also has a cafeteria, medical centre, auditorium, seminar halls, and shuttle services for all to avail.

Admission Procedure

Kanak Manjari Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rourkela offers B. Pharma, M. Pharma in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology, and D. Pharma programs. Candidates for B. Pharm admission at KMIPS Rourkela must pass the HSC examination in Science, and final selection is made through the National Entrance Exam of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) or Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE- Main) or All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT).
