K S Hedge Medical Academy, Mangaluru (KSHEMA), was established in 1999, and became a constituent of NITTE (Deemed to be University) in 2009. KSHEMA has made rapid progress toward recognition as a medical school with high academic standards, providing excellent health care, and emphasising social responsibility in its students. In line with Nitte's (Deemed to be University's) vision and mission, K.S Hegde Medical Academy strives to produce skilled and humane professionals capable of facing future challenges with ethical integrity.

KSHEMA Mangaluru offers 7 undergraduate (UG), 27 postgraduate (PG), 2 postgraduate diploma (PG DIP), and doctorate (PhD) courses for students to pursue.
The UG prgrammes offered are MBBS, and M.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology, Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Radiation Therapy Technology, and Renal Dialysis Technology. Students need to qualify the 10+2 level examination and NEET-UG to be eligible for admission to the aforementioned courses. The highly qualified and experienced faculty at KSHEMA Mangaluru work tirelessly towards imparting quality education, and aims for an atmosphere that is academic, professional, confidential and safe for the students. The Placement Cell provides 1-year internship to all UG students, and training at K S Hedge Charitable Hospital.

K S Hedge Medical Academy, Mangaluru, provides the best available infrastructural support to ensure the holistic development of the students. The Library at KSHEMA Mangaluru has a collection of over 18000 books, 68 international journals and 74 national journals for the scholars to avail themselves. The digital section of the Library offers members access to a host of e-resources.

Students are accommodated in separate hostels for boys and girls in KSHEMA Mangaluru, with mess facilities.

Promoting an active lifestyle for the students, KSHEMA Mangaluru has provisions for multifarious sports and games such as football (2 fields), cricket, tennis, basketball (synthetic court), lawn tennis (synthetic court), volleyball (2 courts), throwball (synthetic court), and badminton (3 courts). The courts have floodlight facilities as well. Additionally, KSHEMA Mangaluru Campus has a well-equipped multi-gymnasium and a 400m athletic turf for the students.

Regular classes at KSHEMA Mangaluru are conducted in spacious classrooms, while practical lessons take place in various specialised cutting-edge laboratories. The fully Wi-Fi-enabled Campus of K S Hedge Medical Academy, Mangaluru, also has a cafeteria, medical facility, ATM facility, as well as shuttle service for the students and staff of the Academy.

Admission Procedure

K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru offers admission to students (both male and female) for B.Sc degrees in specialisations such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Radiation Therapy Technology, and Renal Dialysis Technology, in addition to MBBS. In order to apply for a B.Sc. degree, students must 10+2 with associated subjects and for MBBS the students must pass the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) after completing their 10+2 requirements.

K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru has a faculty that provides appropriate study resources in both practical and theoretical aspects. Through a mentorship programme, the professors support students with a range of needs. Short-term research projects are also encouraged for students to undertake.
