Admission Procedure
The admission procedure for JSPM's Imperial College of Engineering and Research, Pune is based on the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) for undergraduate engineering courses with Bachelor of Engineering [BE] in various engineering disciplines like Computer Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Candidates need to appear for either of these exams and secure a valid score to be eligible for admission. The admission process is conducted through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. Eligible candidates need to apply for the CAP online by filling out the application form and submitting it along with the required documents. After the document verification process, candidates need to participate in the counselling process and select the college of their choice based on their merit and preference. For admission in the postgraduate engineering programs, i.e. Master of Engineering [ME] Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering- Construction Management and Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering- Design Engineering, etc, the eligibility criteria is that the prospective candidates must have passed a Bachelor Degree in the relevant course of Engineering and Technology and must obtain non zero positive scores in Graduates Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Students may also consider appearing for another postgraduate program i.e. Master of Business Administration [MBA] course, to pursue the same the candidates need to have passed minimum three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by any of the Universities recognized by University Grants Commission with atleast 50% marks and should clear any of the following exams- Common Entrance Test [CET], Common Admission Test [CAT], Common Management Aptitude Test [CMAT], Graduate Management Aptitude Test [GMAT], or Xavier School of Management (XAT) with valid score.
