Jogamaya Devi College is one of the renowned and largest Women’s colleges in West Bengal, Kolkata that was established by Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee on 17th July 1932. JDC, Kolkata initiated its journey as the morning section of Asutosh College, Kolkata with 155 students to feed the amply increasing demands for a women's education center in Kolkata. In 1957 the college gained the status of autonomy getting detached from Asutosh College and got affiliated with Calcutta University.
JDC, Kolkata offers a plethora of courses in the field of liberal arts and science background under the disciplines of undergraduate and postgraduate. JDC, Kolkata offers B.Sc. with 19 specializations, B.A. with 16 specializations, and B.Com general along with 2 specializations. JDC, Kolkata has an online admission system through which female candidates with 10+2 or equivalent marks from any recognized university can apply through the official website of JDC, Kolkata. The selection procedure follows the guidelines of the University of Calcutta and is solely based on merit.

Jogamaya Devi College, Kolkata has an online admission system in which students (female only) must apply through the official website of JDC, Kolkata after finishing their 10+2 exams. The students must provide scanned copies of their qualifying transcripts and other necessary documents in order to be verified and receive their final admission. The ultimate admission is also determined by the student's cumulative merits. JDC, Kolkata offers B.Sc. with 19 specialisations, B.A. with 16 specialisations, and B.Com general along with 2 specialisations.
JDC Kolkata also offers M.A. and M.Sc degrees in Botany and Bengali. Candidates with a bachelor's degree with relevant discipline are eligible to apply for these courses. Selection will be done on a merit-based.
