Jamia Millia Islamia, located in New Delhi, (JMI New Delhi) was established in the year 1920 and became a central university in the year 1988 by the act of the Indian Parliament. JMI New Delhi is a chronicle that has been developed and grown with the immense dedication, conviction and support of several people. The faculty at JMI New Delhi are immensely educated with a passion to impart knowledge to students and contribute to the advancement of the country. Many of the faculty members are Fellows of NASA, INSA and JC Bose. The JMI New Delhi is an autonomous university which is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
JMI New Delhi offers the following undergraduate courses to students: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelors of Hotel Management, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Dental Science and Diploma degrees. To get admission to the university, candidates have to appear for the JMI entrance test which is then followed by a personal interview. It is essential that students score more than 30% on the entrance test to qualify for the interview round.
The Training and Placement Cell of JMI New Delhi is impeccable in performing its duties which include helping students upgrade their skills, training them for the corporate world, mock interviews and group discussions and many more. Companies like KPMG, Tech Mahindra, ICICI and a few other companies take an active part in the placement drive conducted by the cell every year. Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi offers various undergraduate and diploma programmes like B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.B.A, B.Voc, B.Tech, B.Arch, B.A LL.B, B.H.M, B.F.A, B.D.S, B.P.T, and D.El.Ed through various faculties/departments/centres on the basis of merit (excluding B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.D.S) as determined by a JMI Entrance Test, followed by an interview and/or other components, where appropriate. Candidates who score less than 30 per cent on the descriptive section of the Entrance Test will not be considered for an interview or admission.
JMI New Delhi also offers postgraduate (M.sc / M.Tech / M.A / M.Pharm), Diploma programmes, Post Graduate Diploma and PhD degree programmes with various specializations. Interested candidates can apply through their online website. For a Postgraduate degree, candidates must qualify for an entrance examination Common University Entrance Test (CUET) with valid marks.
