International School of Design, Kolkata (INSD Kolkata) was established in the year 2011 with the mission to excel in the academic system in the design sector that involves art and media. It has successfully achieved so by earning an ample number of accolades in the categories as the best school of design. INSD Kolkata is recognised by the Himalayan Garhwal University [HGU] and approved by the University Grants Commission [UGC].

The undergraduate programs offered by INSD Kolkata are 3 or 4 year Bachelors of Design [B. Des] in Interior Design & Technology, and Fashion Design & Technology; Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] in Interior Design & Technology, and Fashion Design & Technology; and Bachelor in Graphic Designing [BGD]. The postgraduate programs are Master in Graphic Designing [MGD]; Master in Interior Design and Technology [MID]; and Master in Fashion Design and Technology [MFD]. Students may also avail of Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in the same field of studies as the Bachelor and Masters courses.

INSD Kolkata hones its mission to nurture their creativity and help them reach their full potential with the remarkable infrastructure aided by the Wifi-enabled campus. The classrooms and conference rooms are spacious and are equipped with modern tech-supported facilities. The labs of INSD Kolkata fetch a special point of attraction that are wellmaintained in the forms of Diamond Grading Lab, Gemology Lab, CAD Designing Lab, Design Lab, Fashion Lab, and Conference Lab. It has the satisfying facility of both traditional and digital libraries. Such facilities constantly enhance the learning experience of the students.

The faculty of INSD Kolkata extends their utmost support and kindness to the students. INSD Kolkata awards scholarships on the merit-cum-need basis to the students who have secured the marks that are desired by INSD Kolkata’s end to grant the scholarships. The Placement Cell of INSD Kolkata provides the students with soft skill training before connecting them with companies for internships and final placements. They connect the students with industry by inviting prominent recruiters like Benetton, Vogue Interiors, Artyz, Marks & Spencer, etc.

Admission Procedure

International School of Design, Kolkata offers courses in Interior Design & Technology, Fashion Design & Technology, and Graphic Designing with degrees in the forms of Bachelor of Design (B. Des), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Bachelor in Graphic Designing (BGD) in the undergraduate program; Master in Graphic Designing (MGD); Master in Interior Design and Technology (MID); and Master in Fashion Design and Technology (MFD) in the postgraduate program; and short-term Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses. The eligibility for the Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses is clearing the standard 10 examination minimum. The undergraduate course can be pursued after completing school, i.e. class 12. The eligibility criteria for postgraduate applicants is minimum graduation under any specialised stream. The admission process takes place in phases during the summer and fall semesters. The online application for undergraduate and postgraduate programs usually starts in the month of April.
