Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, Kolkata (IRPE Kolkata) is affiliated with the University of Calcutta and was established in the year 1949. Sirir Kumar Mitra, the father of Radio Science in India founded IRPE Kolkata with a vision for the advancement of learning in electronics and communication technologies so as to contribute to the exploration of the area through research and teaching of international standards. It is approved by University Grant Commission [UGC] and recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE].

IRPE Kolkata offers a 4-year bachelor’s program with Bachelor of Technology [B. Tech] in Electronics and Communication Engineering [ECE]. The postgraduate programs are offered with Master of Technology [M. Tech] in the options of specialisation, e.g. Radio Physics & Electronics and VLSI Design. Students also have the option to pursue the doctoral course through Ph. D. degree in several subjects related to radio physics and electronics. The faculty of IRPE Kolkata is extremely qualified and experienced in their field of study. They encourage students to take up research approaches quite seriously, the most intrinsic pedagogic aspect utilised by the professors at IRPE Kolkata is case methodology, where case studies are valued in the syllabus which indicated the students get guided with situation-specific critical approaches. Admission Procedure

Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, Kolkata offers an undergraduate program in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering [ECE]. The postgraduate programs are offered with Master of Technology (M.Tech) in the options of specialisation, e.g. Radio Physics & Electronics and VLSI Design. Students also have the option to pursue the doctoral course through Ph.D degree in several subjects related to radio physics and electronics. The eligibility criteria for the undergraduate course is 10+2 level of education, graduation for the postgraduate courses, and postgraduate for the doctorate course.
