Institute of Educational Research and Studies Ptti College, Kolkata (IERSPTTIC Kolkata), founded in 1977 by the late Prof. K.S. Gupta of Calcutta University, gave rise to the Primary Teachers' Training Institute (P.T.T.I). In order to establish an ethos on elementary education, IERSPTTIC Kolkata has undertaken a number of programs and initiatives during the past 25 years. It is affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) and the Government of West Bengal and approved by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education).
