Institute of Advance Education and Research, Kolkata (IAER Kolkata), was established in 2012 and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA).
Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), IAER, Kolkata offers 12 undergraduate (UG), 3 postgraduate (PG), and 8 diploma (DIP) courses for the students to pursue. The UG courses offer the degrees of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT); while the PG courses offer Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Hospital Administration (MHA), and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Admission to IAER, Kolkata takes place both online as well as offline.

Admission Procedure
Aspirants can apply both online and offline. For admission into various programmes, the Institute of Advance Education and Research, Kolkata offers the IAER Common Entrance Test (ICET), an online entrance exam with scholarship opportunities. Both the admissions process and the scholarship programme will make use of the ICET. The test will be based on the relevant qualifying examination syllabus and subject-matter aptitude.

Employers are narrowed down by the Institute of Advance Education and Research, Kolkata Career Services Department based on market data, the student's interests, and their academic fields of study. In accordance with the established policies and priorities, they are contacted and invited to the campus. To improve students' awareness of the contemporary business environment, the Career Service Department offers lecture series in collaboration with student organisations. For a period of 6–8 weeks, the students are placed in businesses to get industrial training. For students, several more initiatives relating to business standards have been planned. Students attend seminars every semester to advance in a variety of disciplines. IAER, Kolkata's every department ensures that its students receive internship opportunities at reputed places to gain industry knowledge and experience. Industrial visits such as field trips and excursions are organised by IAER, Kolkata.
