Admission Procedure

Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore offers a Bachelor of Maths, Master of Maths, Master of Science (Library and Information Science), Master of Science (Quality Management). and PhD program in a different specialisation.

A student must have successfully completed 10+2 years of Higher Secondary Education (or its equivalent), with Mathematics and English as required subjects of study, in order to be admitted to the B.Maths programme. Eligibility required a three-year B. Sc. degree or a B. E. / B. Tech degree with Mathematics as a full subject of study in order to be eligible for admission to the M. Math. programme. Selection for admission to the M. Math. programme is based on academic record, performance in written selection tests, and subsequent interviews for students having B. Math. (Pass) degrees from the Indian Statistical Institute.

The M.S. in (Library & Information Science) and (Quality Management Science) programme requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in any discipline as the minimum requirement for admission. Academic records, the candidate's performance in an all-India written entrance exam, and an interview will all be taken into consideration when choosing candidates for the M.S. program. For Ph.D., program candidate must secure a Master's degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
