Indian Institute of Technology, Patna was founded in the year 2008 with an objective to produce more efficient professionals in the field of science and technology.

IIT, Patna is a co-ed institution that offers multiple undergraduate courses such as B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Engineering Physics. Admission to IIT, Patna is conducted online. It is important for students to meet all the eligibility criteria. Candidates have to appear for the JEE advanced to get admission to B.Tech programmes. The admission procedure is based on scores obtained in the entrance examination.

Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Patna’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score in order to be admitted to B.Tech programmes. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Primarily admission to IIT, Patna takes place on the merit obtained in the aforesaid exams.
IIT Patna also provides PhD, M.Tech, and M.s. programs. Students must pass the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) entrance exam to be admitted to the M.Tech program, and the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) to be admitted to the M.Sc program. Additionally, admission to the PhD program requires a master's degree with at least 60% of the requisite marks.
