Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad was established in 2015 with a major aim to produce more efficient candidates in the field of science and technology for the well being of India. The IIT, Palakkad holds a good reputation for excellence in academics and innovative research.

IIT, Palakkad is a co-ed institution that offers undergraduate courses like B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Admission at IIT, Palakkad is conducted online through the official website. Candidates willing to take admission must meet all the eligibility criteria. It is important for students to appear for the JEE Advanced and scores obtained in that exam will determine their selection. Candidates must have completed 10+2 exams from a recognized board.

Undergraduate students are provided with a number of Merit-based and Need-based scholarships. Students with 40% disabilities or more are given 'Scholarships for Students with Disabilities'.

Final year students get placement opportunities with the help of the placement cell at IIT, Palakkad. All placement activities are operated by the cell every year. Students get placed in reputable companies through placement drives that observe the highest package of 31.5 LPA and an average of 11.42 LPA.

Admission Procedure

Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad's admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score in order to be admitted to B.Tech programmes. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Primarily admission to IIT, Palakkad takes place on the merit obtained in the aforesaid exams. 

IIT Palakkad offers M.Tech, M.Sc, MS (Research), and PhD courses in Engineering, sciences, and Humanities & social science discipline. Candidates for these courses must hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or science or a Master's degree in science and have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE score in a relevant discipline. Candidates with an excellent academic record that includes a master's degree in engineering or technology or a master's degree by research in engineering or technology ought to have an acceptable Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE score in the concerned field and are eligible for PhD course admission.

Scholarships

There are scholarships like ''Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS'', ''Scholarships for Students with Disabilities'' for Students with disabilities 40% or more whose annual parental family income is below Rs. 6 lakhs, ''Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships For College and University Students'' for the Class XII pass out students of the current Academic Year, who are above 80th percentile and whose annual family income is 8 lakhs and below and many more. Also the students can avail various UGC and AICTE scholarships too.
