Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score in order to be admitted to B.Tech, BS, and Dual Degree programs. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognized board of secondary education. Primarily admission to this institution takes place on the merit obtained in the aforesaid exams.
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur offers Master of Science (MS) by Research Programme in Engineering, M.TECH, M.DES, MBA, and PhD courses with a variety of specializations. the selection of the postgraduate degree course is made according to the merit secured by the applicants in their undergraduate degree courses in the relevant subject discipline from a recognized university along with the merit secured by the applicant in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Placements
The institution has created a separate division known as the Students' Placement Office(SPO) that is used only for Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur placements. A group of students and office personnel oversee the division, which manages all matters pertaining to placements on the IIT, Kanpur campus. The process of placing students at IIT, Kanpur begins as soon as the organisations meet the SPO, and it continues by setting up all of the necessary logistics for the tests, pre-placement meetings, and managing interviews in the final stages. Scholarships
There are a variety of scholarships available at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur such as ''Merit cum Means Scholarship'', which gives the awardee a full tuition waiver, and pocket allowance of Rs. 1000 pm for the duration of the program, the ''INSPIRE Scholarship'' where a student receive an annual scholarship of Rs.30,000 per semester (Rs. 60,000 annually), along with a research grant of Rs.20,000, there is ''Donor scholarship'' which is provided to the meritorious and needy students.
