At present the IIT Jammu offers undergraduate courses in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Final admissions in the institute are conducted online. Students willing to apply are required to meet all the required eligibility criterions. Valid JEE Advanced score is a must to secure admission in the colleges B.Tech program. A range of scholarships is provided by the college to the financially weak and merit based students.

Well equipped smart classrooms of the campus allows the students to be a part of the modern education system.
Being a fully residential college it even features separate hostels for both boys and girls with all basic amenities. Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu's admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score in order to be admitted to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Primarily admission to IIT Jammu takes place on the merit obtained in the aforesaid exams.
IIT Jammu offers PhD and M.Tech courses in the fields of engineering, science, and humanities & social science. Candidates pursuing M.Tech courses must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or science, or a Master's degree in science, as well as a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score in the appropriate field. And a master's degree in engineering or technology, or a master's degree by research in engineering or technology, must have a passable GATE score in the relevant discipline in order to be admitted to a PhD programme.

IIT, Jammu also offers summer internship programmes in addition to final placement.
Scholarships
Undergraduate students at the Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu are eligible for a variety of scholarships. The scholarships at IIT Jammu are solely based on a student's financial state and/or the academic performance. There are many scholarship and freeships such as ''Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship'', ''Institute Freeship Scholarship'', ''Institute Free Messing Scholarship'' available where undergraduate students are eligible to apply. Students also can avail any "National and State Scholarship" while studying.
