An institute of National Importance and Excellence, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore was established in 2009 with a major aim of developing leaders in many disciplines of life. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) the autonomous university provides for well qualified faculty members having profound knowledge in their respective fields.
At present, the IIT Indore offers undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The IIT Indore conducts online admissions. Students willing to apply for their courses must meet all the required eligibility criterias and most importantly secure a valid JEE Advanced score to get admitted in B.Tech programs.
Different scholarships to needy students coming from financially weak backgrounds are provided by the IIT Indore.
The placement cell of the IIT Indorecollaborates with recruiters from top notch companies to provide placements to the students. Numerous organisations from analytics, data science, research and development, technology, consultancy hire candidates from the institute. Playing one of the most crucial part of the institute’s culture the library here provides its students with a huge collection of over thirty five thousand books and other such journals and dissertations.
Furthermore, students here also have access to digital library and its e-resources which can be accessed beyond the college boundaries. Subject specific laboratories and smart classrooms are part of the campus to deliver unique university experience. Being a fully residential campus separate hostels for boys and girls are also provided by the campus. Different eateries and cafes are also present in the IIT Indore to provide budget friendly meals to students. A dedicated health care centre to address emergencies is available round the clock. Additionally eco friendly green transportation facilities are granted by the IIT Indore to and from different part of Indore.

Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Indore's admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which the candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score in order to be admitted to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Primarily admission to IIT Indore takes place on the merit obtained in the aforesaid exams.
In the areas of engineering, science, and humanities & social sciences, IIT Indore also offers courses for the Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc), MS (Research), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. For admission to the M.Tech and MS (Research) programs, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and pass the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). whereas candidates for the M.Sc programme must also pass the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). The PhD programme also requires a master's degree and GATE score in order to be admitted.

The Training and placement cell of the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore works throughout the year to provide students with employment options and promotes the IIT Indore placement process. Every year, it organises a placement drive to aid in the placement of its students in various companies. Every year, organisations from a wide range of industries participate in the placement drive at IIT Indore. In order to help students get the finest job offers during the placement drive, training programmes are also made available by this cell to them. IIT Indore also collaborates with recruiters to offer students internship opportunities. Numerous companies from different sector including software development/engineering, analytics, data science, research and development, technology, consultancy, and more have hired graduates from IIT Indore.
Scholarships
Indian Institute of Technology, Indore's undergraduate students are eligible for a variety of scholarships. The scholarships at IIT Indore are provided on the basis of student's financial state and/or the academic performance. There are many scholarship and freeships given to the students in the form of "Merit-cum-Means Scholarship", "Freeship Scholarship" and "Messing/Lodging fee waiver", where they are eligible to apply. Students also can avail any "National and State Scholarship" while studying.
