Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Goa was established in 2016. The institute aims at disseminating quality education, training and research at global standards for students.

IIT Goa is a co-ed institute that provides undergraduate courses such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing. Admission at IIT Goa is conducted online. Candidates can apply for admission through the official website. Students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. To take admission to B.Tech programmes, students must have a valid JEE Advanced score. The admission process at IIT Goa is merit based.
Needy meritorious students are offered a range of scholarships and financial aids. Besides, eligible students can avail PMRF - Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship.
IIT Goa features a 'Career Development Cell' which helps students to secure on and off-campus placements. Various companies are invited to participate in placement drives at IIT Goa. The placement process comprises a few steps - first of all, students have to register themselves online to be a part of the placement drive and CVs of individuals are collected by the placement cell who sends them to companies for shortlisting. Selected students are contacted by the companies. Placement drives at the IIT Goa observe the highest package of 43 LPA and an average of 10 LPA.
The basic amenities provided to students by the IIT Goa include a central library, a digital library for e-learning, subject specific labs, hostel accommodations separate for boys and girls, indoor recreation room and gymnasium, a table tennis room and outdoor gaming facilities including a football ground, a cricket ground, a volleyball court, a tennis court and a basketball court as well, medical facilities, on-campus WIFI connectivity, well furnished air-conditioned classrooms, on-campus ATM access, an auditorium, shuttle services and a cafeteria.

Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Goa’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score in order to be admitted to B.Tech programmes. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Primarily admission to IIT Goa takes place on the merit obtained in the aforesaid exams.
IIT Goa provide M.Tech and PHD course in different specialisation. Candidates with a graduate degree in a relevant stream are eligible to apply for the M.Tech course and the admission would be based on a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Candidates for the PhD program must hold a Master's degree in engineering or technology, or an equivalent degree, with at least 60% in those subjects and a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score in such subjects.

Placements
The Placement Cell of the Indian Institute of Technology, Goa is called 'Career Development Cell'. This cell makes sure that all students receive on- and off-campus help for placements and organises appropriate training for career preparations for all the students. The Career Development Cell of IIT Goa is responsible for giving students career guidance for both academic and industrial vocations. Companies and recruiters are invited to participate in the placement process. These Companies undertake pre-placement talks while on campus. Interested students are encouraged to register themselves online to participate in the placement process. IIT Goa placement cell gathers student CVs and resumes and delivers them to the businesses for shortlisting; the companies then contact the selected individuals for further progress.
Scholarships
Undergraduate students at Indian Institute of Technology, Goa are eligible for a variety of scholarships. There are many "Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships" where undergraduate students are eligible for application. Awards are offered for up to 25% of the applicants. There are also need-based scholarships for the students too. For 10% of undergraduate students, there are institute free studentship scholarships available.
