Committed to fostering a state of art research and exploration in space studies and technology the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IISST) was founded in Thiruvananthapuram in 2007. It is also regarded as Asia’s first space university that offers high-end education and courses in space science and engineering to live up to the demands of the Indian Space Programme. Equipped with top-notch infrastructure IISST within a decade of its establishment has reached great heights of success.
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Moreover, the IISST Thiruvananthapuram also has a group of renowned faculty members who are experienced and knowledgeable enough to make the students stand out in the competitive space. At present the undergraduate courses offered by IISST Thiruvananthapuram include B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and B.Tech + Master of Science. IISST Thiruvananthapuram gives admission on the basis of entrance exams. Scholarships are even provided to the candidates based on their performances in the entrance exams.
On a mission to foster the spirit of creativity, excellence and innovation on the academic ground IISST Thiruvananthapuram provide a six-storied library building that covers books, journals, and electronic resources including all major topic areas. The campus also has a unique IISST Virtual Library that allows users to access e-resources from anywhere at any time. Furthermore, the Institute even has different laboratories with advanced technologies that assist students in proceeding further with their courses with more ease. These laboratories feature 14 inches and 8 inches telescopes, Atmospheric Science Lab, an Automatic Weather Station, Geology Lab, and a Remote Sensing lab. IISST provides cafeteria facilities for all of its students and faculty members. The classrooms are maintained in a manner to provide the exact required environment needed by the students. Wi-fi facilities are even available for the students to avail. Additionally, IISST Thiruvananthapuram also grants well-maintained sports facilities to its students for training, leisure playing and practising. The IISST Thiruvananthapuram at present comprises of 11 hostel campuses that are fully equipped with all the basic amenities to provide comfortable living to the students. Well-equipped gyms with certified trainers are available to keep the students in the best of their health. IISST Thiruvananthapuram has even partnered with the area’s finest hospital to provide necessary services to the students in case of need. Shuttle services are granted to students during public holidays and weekends.

Admission Procedure
The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram conducts an admission procedure which is based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) score. The applying candidates are required to check the official website for every admission-related detail.
IISSTT also offer postgraduate and doctorate degree like M.Tech, M.Sc and PhD course in various department. Candidates for the M.Sc. and M.Tech. programmes must have successfully completed their graduation courses in a related field. Applicants with a Master's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Arts, or Management as their highest qualifying degree and must have secured 60% marks are eligible for PHD courses.
