Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (IISER Thiruvananthapuram) is an autonomous institution founded in 2008 with the aim of providing high-quality education in modern science, delving into research prospects right at the undergraduate level itself, and developing a spirit of inquiry cutting across disciplines. IISER Thiruvananthapuram offers a five-year integrated Bachelor of Science and Master of Science BS-MS dual course of study in science. Students may take admission to the master in science program also . It also offers an integrated Ph.D. program within the 14-semester course. Students may consider only the Ph. D. program also . the scholars need to appear and qualify for the Joint Entrance Screening Test [ JEST] for admission in their desired courses with minimum eligibility criteria of education in deferred branches of science. IISER Thiruvananthapuram campus is found within the Vithura region as a neighborhood of the Western Ghats mountain ecosystem having the bonus of the geographic scene beautifying the campus appearance. within the academic block, there are separate departmental buildings and an animal house. there's an inside Stadium additionally to outdoor grounds providing sports facilities and a number of other other recreation areas for cultural activities. Admission Procedure

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram conducts its admission procedure according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education. The selection of the applicants for the dual degree course in science programme is made according to the merits secured by the applicants in their 10+2 or equivalent examination form recognised with the relevant science subjects along with the merits secured through the Joint Entrance Examination- Advanced (JEE-Advanced) or the State Central Boards (SCB) examination conducted by the IISER authority or the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Exam (KVPY). For the postgraduate degree course in science, the selection of the applicants is made according to the merits secured by the students in their undergraduate degree course from a recognised university in the relevant science subject discipline along with the merits secured by the students in the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) examination or the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) or the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). In the integrated PhD courses, the selection of the candidates is made according to the merits secured by the students in their undergraduate degree course in the relevant science discipline subject from a recognised university along with the merits secured by the candidates in the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) or a student who is qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship programme by the University Grants Commission (UGC-JRF). The selection of the applicants for the doctoral degree courses is made according to the merits secured by the candidate in their postgraduate degree course from a recognised university in the relevant science subject discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate along with the merits secured by the students through the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research- Junior Research Fellowship (CSIR_JRF) or the Junior Research Fellowship programme by the University Grants Commission (UGC-JRF) or the Department of Biotechnology- Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) or the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Fellowship, or the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) or the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Fellowship or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Fellowship
