The sixth Institute which was established by the Indian Government's Ministry of Education under the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Programme, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Tirupati (IISER Tirupati), commenced activities in August 2015 at the temporary campus of Sree Rama Engineering College in Rami Reddy Nagar, Karakambadi Road, Tirupati. The Andhra Pradesh Government has graciously provided 100 hectares of land near Tirupati, adjacent to Srinivasapuram, Pangur, and Chindepalli villages of Yerpedu Mandal for the purpose of constructing the permanent campus of IISER Tirupati, with the view of providing quality education in basic sciences and setting up first-class research facilities for research in science.
IISER Tirupati conducts admission to this prestigious institution and can do so via IISER Tirupati's official website. All applicants for the BS-MS dual degree must fulfill the criteria forth by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, including receiving a respectable grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the 10+2 grade from an accredited board. Also, a student must have a respectable Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE ) score. Candidates for the Ph.D. program must pass a national-level examination like the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) NET and have at least a 55% grade point average in the M.Sc. program. IISER Tirupati also offers an integrated Ph.D. program.
