Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM Bangalore), was established in 1973 by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Recognised as an Institute of National Importance, IIM Bangalore aspires to be a contextually relevant business school with world-class academic standards, producing socially responsible administrators, leaders, and entrepreneurs.

Students can pursue 5 postgraduate (PG), and doctorate (PhD) courses at IIM Bangalore. Among the PG courses, three provide the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA). Applications for admission to IIM Bangalore can be submitted online via their official website. Admission to the PG courses at IIM Bangalore is secured by candidates on the basis of their merit in graduation and the Common Admission Test (CAT). For doctoral degrees, admission is secured on the basis of the candidate's merit in postgraduation and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) / Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) / GAT.

Admission Procedure

Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore conducts its admission procedure according to the Common Admission Test (CAT) outcome. The students interested in applying for the postgraduate degree programme can apply through the institute's official website. The admissions for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses are made according to the merits secured by the candidates in their undergraduate degree course from a recognised university along with the merits secured by the students in their CAT examination. After the selection of the candidates, the final selection of the candidates is made according to the outcomes of the candidates in an analytical written test and personal interview conducted by the IIM Bangalore authorities.

The selection of applicants for the MBA degree in Agri-Business Management is made upon the merits secured by the candidates in their bachelor's degree examination from a relevant agricultural subject from a recognised university. For students applying for the doctoral degree programmes, the selection of the applicants is based upon the merits secured by the students in their postgraduate degree course along with merits secured in Common Admission Test (CAT).
