Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Chennai established in 2007 is an autonomous university that envisions providing students with technical education.
IIITDM, Chennai with recognition by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree courses in the various aspects of technological education.

IIITDM, Chennai tries its best to provide excellent infrastructural support intended for the convenience of the students. IIITDM, Chennai campus has a well-stocked library with a good collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, periodicals, and other academic resources. IIITDM, Chennai also has access to a digital library facility. For the convenience of the students in the practical learning of the subjects, IIITDM, Chennai provides course-specific labs that are equipped with modernised machinery, tools and apparatus. Catering to the medical emergencies of the students, IIITDM, Chennai provides a Medical Aid Centre that provides medical assistance to residents. IIITDM, Chennai has the facility of an ambulance for medical emergencies and all the students are covered under group medical insurance arranged by the university. For the convenience of the students, the campus also has gender-specific hostels, a badminton court, a basketball course, a canteen, and an ATM along the campus. IIITDM, Chennai conducts the admission procedure based on the guidelines of the government. For the Bachelor's degree and Dual degree courses the admission procedure is determined upon the All India Rank (AIR) secured through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains. The seats are allotted for postgraduate programs following the Centralized Counselling (CCMT) system. The admissions for the Ph.D. courses are conducted based on the institution's Entrance Examination followed by an interview.
