The library of Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur has over a million items. There are thousands of text and reference books, as well as forty thousand bound volumes of journals. The library belongs to the UGC-INFONET and the Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Science and Technology (INDEST). The library has a vast collection of books. With a collection of antique and rare nineteenth-century books and journals, the library is open to all.
There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There are eighteen dorms and three are allowed for the girls. Hostel accommodations are given as per the hostel's policies. Rooms are available however paucity of seats in the hostels, and residential housing for all students, including undergraduates, is not guaranteed. The fees of the hostel are to be paid for the hostel seat, hostel maintenance charge, and electricity and water charges.
The IIEST Shibpur has provided students with amenities such as the gymnasium, swimming pool, basketball courts, and many other indoor and outdoor facilities. There are two sports grounds for students. Students are encouraged to participate in physical activities. The campus focuses on the physical health of students. The gym is set up keeping in mind the requirements of students in the gym. The gym is equipped with the latest equipments. Training facilities are made available with trainers who can guide students.
There are multiple labs and rooms where workshops are conducted. The campus has separate provisions for Carpentry, Welding and Painting, Boiler, Automobile, Fitting, Project models, Foundry and pattern, Smithy, Electric, and many more. These labs are equipped with the latest equipment and help the students to engage and improve their skills. The computer lab is open to all and is facilitated with the updated equipment.
The cafeteria on the campus aims to serve healthy and hygienic food to the students at affordable rates. The canteen serves a multi-cuisine menu to students.
The IIEST Shibpur does have a Health Unit with Medical Officers and other support staff to take care of the primary medical needs. It provides ambulance service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An ID Ward has been established in the unit to adequately separate pupils who are infected with infectious diseases. In extreme circumstances, patients are directed to a hospital for appropriate medical attention.
The IIEST Shibpur is Wi-Fi enabled and the classrooms are fully furnished with ICT facilities. The auditorium on the campus holds multiple events throughout the year. The auditorium is a multi-purpose one. The other halls and centres on the campus are- R. N. Banerjee Student Recreation Centre and Alpona Banerjee Memorial Centre for Innovation.
