Indian Institute of Bio-Social Research and Development, Kolkata (IBRAD Kolkata), is a respected centre for academic excellence and research since its establishment in 1985. IBRAD Kolkata has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Tribal Development by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, since 2019.

IBRAD Kolkata offers a full-time MBA programme with specialisation in Sustainable Development affiliated to MAKAUT, as well as a postgraduate diploma course in Sustainable Tribal Development Management in collaboration with Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University.

These are taught by a team of eminent faculty, who are involved in action research, training, development, and impact evaluation studies in the sectors of forest, agriculture, horticulture, water, livelihood, and rural development covering more than 10 states of India.

IBRAD Kolkata boasts an impressive infrastructure that is designed to foster a conducive learning environment. IBRAD Kolkata's traditional library is fully equipped with an extensive collection of books, journals and other reference materials. There is a well-stocked digital library as well that provides access to a wide range of online resources. IBRAD Kolkata provides hostel facilities to its students. IBRAD Kolkata campus is Wi-Fi enabled and provides students with internet access throughout the day. IBRAD Kolkata has a number of spacious and well-equipped classrooms equipped with the latest audio-visual teaching aids that provide an ideal learning environment for the students. IBRAD Kolkata also has a number of well-equipped laboratories for carrying out experiments and research works. Additionally, IBRAD Kolkata has a number of seminar halls where conferences, seminars and workshops are regularly held.

Admission Procedure

Indian Institute of Bio-Social Research and Development, Kolkata offers a postgraduate diploma course in Sustainable Tribal Development Management in collaboration with Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, admissions to which is based on the students merit in an entrance examination and his overall academic record till graduation. IBRAD Kolkata also offers a full-time MBA programme with specialisation in Sustainable Development affiliated to MAKAUT, admission to which is based on their merit in Management Aptitude Test (MAT)/ Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT) entrance examinations.
