Hooghly Mohsin College (HMC), Hooghly was established in 1836 and initially known as the HMC Hooghly, affiliated to the University of Calcutta. HMC Hooghly was later renamed HMC Hooghly in its centenary year, and became affiliated to the University of Burdwan in 1960.
Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), HMC Hooghly offers 36 undergraduate (UG) and 8 postgraduate (PG) courses for students to pursue. The UG courses offer the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc); while the PG courses offer Master of Arts (M.A), Master of Commerce (M.Com), and Master of Science (M.Sc).
