Hooghly Engineering and Technology College (HETC), Hooghly was set up in 2004 and is a part of the Hooghly Engineering and Technology College Society. HETC Hooghly is spread over a sprawling campus of 10-acre and functions with the goal to aid in the development of innovative, professionally competent, and research-oriented future engineers who are capable of meeting the demands of cutting-edge technology, thereby establishing a successful and sustainable global society. HETC Hooghly is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
HETC Hooghly offers 5 undergraduate (UG) courses for students to pursue. All the courses are for Bachelor of Technology in the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The aforementioned courses are offered by HETC Hooghly in affiliation to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). Students have to qualify the 10+2 level examination and get a valid rank in WBJEE or JEE Main in order to be eligible for admission to the B.Tech courses.
Academic guidance is provided by faculty members distinguished in their respective fields of research and industry.
Internships and placement assistance are provided for the students by the Training and Placement Cell of HETC Hooghly. HETC Hooghly provides an adequate infrastructure to ensure the holistic development of the students.
HETC Hooghly has both traditional and digital library facilities. The Library of HETC Hooghly houses 20000 books, several journals as well as two English daily newspapers. The Reading Room of the HETC Hooghly Library can accommodate up to 100 readers at a time. The digital section of the Library helps the students access multifarious online journals, e-books and other digital resources. HETC Hooghly provides separate accommodations for male and female students. The girls’ hostel is located within the campus, whereas the boys’ hostel is located near Bandel Railway Station. Both the hostels have provisions for power backup facilities and safe drinking water.
HETC Hooghly promotes a healthy lifestyle for the young scholars and provides facilities for various sports like football, cricket, volleyball and badminton. The students at HETC Hooghly are taught in spacious classrooms, while practical classes are conducted in various well-equipped course-specific laboratories. Additionally, a Language Lab, a Graphics Lab, a Physics Lab and a Chemistry Lab are also available for students of every department. The canteen at HETC Hooghly is airy and spacious, providing nutritious and hygienic food. There are experienced doctors available in a well-equipped Students’ Health Home. HETC Hooghly also has a stationery and photocopy corner alongside two state-of-the-art air-conditioned auditoriums for the students to avail.

Admission Procedure
Eligible candidates (co-ed) who have passed 10+2 examinations and have secured a valid rank in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Mains) can apply both online and offline to Hooghly Engineering and Technology College, Hooghly for any of the five specializations under B.Tech degree. 90% of the seats are allotted to students with a valid WBJEE rank and 10% of the seats are allotted to candidates securing a valid rank in JEE Main.
