The campus of HBS, Kolkata is situated on Chowbaga Road, halfway between the Basanti Expressway and the Eastern Metropolitan By-pass, behind Ruby General Hospital. The campus is beautifully landscaped, with winding pathways connecting the many buildings. With a backdrop of rich foliage and a calm environment, HBS, Kolkata offers both an aesthetically beautiful and soothing ambiance as well as an environment that is intellectually challenging.
The library of HBS, Kolkata is a crucial tool for researchers, students, and business and management academics. The computerized MBA Library is located in a 225 sq. m. air-conditioned hall with an adjacent reading room that can accommodate 60 readers at once. This is a free and open library. The library has Internet and instructional CD capabilities. The library has over 1071 titles and 10,000 volumes. It subscribes to 91 magazines and journals, including 52 national and 39 international journals, online databases, and e-journals like Economic & Political Weekly (EPW), Sage Online, HBR Online, and J GATE Social Science & Management. The library also offers photocopying services and online access (LIBSYS). Additionally, a book bank is also established.
All of the classrooms of HBS, Kolkata are air-conditioned and furnished with audiovisual equipment, computers, laptops, overhead LCD projectors, and PA systems with cordless microphones. In addition to having Wi-Fi capabilities, all of the classrooms have traditional LAN access. For specialized classes, separate tutorial rooms are also available.
Excellent facilities are available for outdoor activities like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. A sports officer and a physical educator oversee these facilities. Additionally, hostels are available at HBS, Kolkata, and well-equipped with amenities including a common area, a TV room, and a public phone. All dorm rooms are connected to the Internet via a leased line and have access all the time. Accommodation in hostels is given exclusively on the basis of merit and on a first-come, first-served basis.
HBS, Kolkata has a computer center with the newest workstations that are centrally air-conditioned. Students enjoy free access to the Internet every day. A modern seminar room is utilized for conducting seminars, conferences, programmes, student events, and other significant institute events, with a seating capacity of roughly 180. The GD & PI Room is a standalone unit with 60 seats that is nicely decorated, fully air-conditioned, and equipped with presentation and teaching aids.
