Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Kolkata (GNIPST) was established in 2005 and is a unit of Guru Nanak Education Trust. Located in Panihati, Sodpur, GNIPST is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Kolkata offers 6 undergraduate (UG), 1 diploma (DIP) and 11 postgraduate (PG) courses. The undergraduate courses are B.Pharm, B.Sc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics and Medical Laboratory Technology, and BBA in Hospital Management. The singular diploma course is in Pharmacy. The postgraduate programmes offered by GNIPST Kolkata are M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and M.Sc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics and Media Lab Technology. In order to push the bar of research, GNIPST Kolkata established Prof. Acharya Prafulla Chandra Advanced Research Laboratory, encouraging greater exploration in related fields. Students are encouraged to publish research and review articles in reputed journals, and present their papers at national and international conferences.
The Training and Placement Cell of the Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Kolkata organises industrial tours, summer camps and regular training sessions to make the students industry-ready. Students of GNIPST are recruited by renowned companies like Cipla, Dr. Reddy's, Wockhardt, Abbott, etc. Admission to GNIPST Kolkata takes place online via their official website. Admission Procedure
Admission to the Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Kolkata takes place online. Candidates who are interested to apply to the various courses offered by GNIPST can do so by visiting the official website, which would direct them to the sites of their choice, where they can access the online application portal under the admission tab. Candidates must pass 10+2 level examinations with at least 45% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology from a recognised board in order to be eligible for the B.Pharm, B.Sc, and D.Pharm courses. Candidates are eligible for the BBA course after clearing 10+2 level examination from a recognised board with English as a compulsory subject.
