Government Victoria College, Palakkad (GVC Palakkad), was set up in 1866 first as a school, and then raised to the rank of College in 1888. GVC Palakkad is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and is affiliated to the University of Calicut. Students can pursue 16 undergraduate (UG), 11 postgraduate (PG), and 5 doctorate (PhD) courses at GVC Palakkad.
The UG courses are for the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com); while the PG courses are for Master of Arts (M.A), Master of Science (M.Sc), and Master of Commerce (M.Com).
