Established in 1942, Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology, Kolkata (GCECT Kolkata) is a leading institution in ceramic engineering.
Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), GCECT Kolkata offers undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech) and doctorate (Ph.D) degrees in Ceramic Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology. Affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT), GCECT Kolkata provides admission to its B.Tech courses on merit basis in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE).

Admission Procedure
Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology, Kolkata offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D courses for students to pursue. Students need to to qualify their 10+2 level examination from a science stream in order to be eligible for the various courses. Admission to the B.Tech courses is based on the candidates merit in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE), and is done via the WBJEE counselling process. For admission to M.Tech courses, students need to qualify the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology, Kolkata has a well-functioning training and Placement Cell which oversees all recruitment-related activities.
