Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata (GCAC Kolkata) is one of India's oldest and most prestigious art education institutions. GCAC Kolkata which has a 157-year history, has long been a center of intellectual distinction. GCAC Kolkata is a co-educational educational institution that is connected to the University of Calcutta. For its undergraduate programs, the college currently uses the Choice-Based Credit System (C.B.C.S.).
GCAC Kolkata is the only college of fine arts in the nation to provide a focused study in Indian painting. GCAC Kolkata has a dedicated and trained faculty. GCAC Kolkata offers BFA and MFA degrees. For BFA admission at GCAC Kolkata candidates must pass HSC(10+2) from any board. And for MFA admission at GCAC Kolkata candidates must pass a bachelor's degree from any recognized university.
GCAC Kolkata is situated on 1.58 acres of environmentally friendly property and is close to the Indian Museum in Kolkata's (previously Calcutta's) historic Chowringhee neighborhood.
