Government Arts College Udhagamandalam (GACU) is located in Tamil Nadu founded in 1955, is the main center of higher education in the Nilgiri District. The mission of GAC Udhagamandalam is to shape socially-committed, future driven and intellectually inclined students to serve the nation's well being especially to promote the social and economical development of the backward classes.
Affiliated to Bharathiar University GAC Udhagamandalam offers almost every discipline centric of undergraduate and postgraduate and research courses in the science, arts and commerce stream. Among research programmes there are 8 M.Phil and 8 PhD. courses in the institution.
GAC Udhagamandalam is teemed with devoted and famed faculty members across the nation expertise in their respective fields. The faculties strive to provide quality education to their disciples to make them ready for the industry. GAC Udhagamandalam follows an offline method for its admission procedure. The selection is done based on the prerequisite of the previous exam scorecard and the eligibility criteria as determined by the Bharathiar University.

Admission Procedure
Government Arts College, Udhagamandalam follows an offline method of admission. GACU mainly selects candidates based on their merit and eligibility. GACU provides UG and PG courses, in the form of BA, B.Sc., Bcom and MA, M.Sc. and MCom, respectively. Applicants applying for the undergraduate course at GACU must have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination from a recognised board with specializations in their respective sectors.
