Gopal Chandra Memorial College of Education, Kolkata (GCMCE Kolkata), was established in 1967 under the aegis of the New Barrackpore Siksha Samaj, with the primary goal of training effective and dedicated teachers, with a focus on their moral development. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), GCMCE Kolkata is affiliated to West Bengal State University, Barasat.

Students can pursue 8 postgraduate (PG) courses for the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) at GCMCE Kolkata.

The highly qualified faculty of GCMCE Kolkata strives to impart quality education, and promote a progressive and inclusive culture.

Admission Procedure

For taking admission in Gopal Chandra Memorial College of Education, Kolkata, a candidate must have a three year B.A./B.Sc. or M.A./M.Sc or equivalent exam from West Bengal State University or any other University recognized by the UGC for the course of B.Ed with various specialisations. Also the applying candidates belonging to the general category, must secured a having minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Graduate/Post Graduate level. There shall be relaxation of marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Physically disabilities. The admission is done as per NCTE norms.
