GMR Institute of Technology, Rajam (GMRIT Rajam), was established in 1997 under the aegis of GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, GMR Group. Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), GMRIT Rajam is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.
Students can pursue 7 undergraduate (UG) and 3 postgraduate (PG) courses at GMRIT Rajam. The UG courses are for the degree of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) while the PG courses are for Master of Technology (M.Tech). Admission to GMRIT Rajam takes place online via their official website.

Admission Procedure
GMR Institute of Technology, Rajam follows an online method of admission. Applicants to GMRIT Rajam are selected based on their merit and eligiblity criteria. GMRIT Rajam offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate degree under the faculty of Engineering. Aspiring B.Tech (Undergraduate) applicants to GMRIT Rajam must appear for Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) and aspiring Post Graduate applicants to GMRIT Rajam must have appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Selection of the applicants are done based on the marks and rank secured in the entrance examinations. Aspiring Undergraduate (B.Tech) applicants to GMRIT Rajam must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board with respective Science subjects according to the concerned department. Aspiring Post Graduate applicants to GMRIT Rajam must have secured Bachelors Degree from any recognized University.
