Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT) is located in Baruipur, Kolkata. It is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). It was named after Smt. Gorge Mukherjee.
The five types of courses offered by GMIT Kolkata are Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Communications Engineering. It offers B.Tech and M.Tech in the aforementioned courses. GMIT Kolkata is closely linked with DFIC Management Consultant of Germany, Bassetti of France, and Avcon Global of the USA. It has good tie-ups with the industry and offers good placement opportunities to the students.

Admission Procedure
Admission at Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology is conducted online. The students are to qualify for their Higher Secondary Examinations from any recognised board. Students are required to qualify for either the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinatio (WBJEE) or the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE-MAIN), for taking admission in the B.Tech courses. The admission is merit-based. GMIT is a co-ed institution.
