Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology University, Gunupur (GIET University, Gunupur), was established in 1997 under the aegis of Vidya Bharati Educational Trust, and has presently attained the status of an Autonomous University.
Situated in the lush green foothills of the Eastern Ghats in Odisha, GIET Gunupur is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Students can pursue 19 undergraduate (UG), 20 postgraduate (PG) and 11 doctorate (PhD) courses at GIET Gunupur. The UG courses are for the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA); while the PG courses are for Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Arts (M.A) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). Applicants to GIETU Gunupur are selected based on the merit and eligibility criteria of applicants. GIETU Gunupur offers Undergraduate, Post Graduate, and Doctorate courses under the faculty of Engineering and Management. Aspiring B.Tech, B.Sc and BBA (Undergraduate) applicants to GIETU Gunupur must appear for the GIET University Entrance Examination (GIETEE). Selection is based on the marks and rank secured in the Entranc examination. Aspiring Bsc applicants to GIETU Gunupur must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board with respective subjects according to their concerned department. Aspiring BBA applicants to GIETU Gunupur must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board in any stream. Aspiring B.Tech applicants to GIETU Gunupur must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board with respective combination of Science subjects with an aggregate or average of 50% marks. Aspiring Post Graudate applicants to GIETU Gunupur must have secured Bachelors Degree from any recognized University with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Aspiring M.Tech applicants to GIETU Gunupur must appear for the GIET University Entrance Examination (GIETEE). Selection is based on the marks and rank secured in the Entranc examination.
