Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), located in Fursatganj, was established in the year 2008 with the objective to impart education, facilitating the Indian industry by bridging the skill gap in the areas of footwear, leather accessories and lifestyle product. The knowledgeable and experienced staff at FDDI inspires students to reach their full potential.

The faculty produces printed self-educational materials in collaboration with academia, research and development, and practising personnel. The teachers bring their professional expertise, wide-ranging exposure, and years of real-world experience to the classroom in addition to their education from FDDI and some of the finest fashion institutions in the world.

Footwear Design and Development Institute, Fursatganj, is an autonomous institution offering undergraduate courses which are as follows Bachelor of Design in Footwear Design and Product and Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design. All candidates for undergraduate admissions must submit an online application for the FDDI All India Selection Test (FDDI-AIST), followed by counselling. Each and every qualified applicant would need to pass a test (Paper Based Test) given by FDDI.

According to the procedures and qualifying requirements, students from all FDDI campuses are eligible to apply for scholarships given by the Government (central and state) agencies.

The FDDI, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, coordinates a centralised campus placement process that all FDDI campuses take part in. The Placement Cell provides essential career counselling and support to the Institute's students. FDDI Fursatganj has placed every student into a job to date with 100% success. All students at FDDI Fursatganj receive employment offers prior to graduating.

The amenities provided to students at Footwear Design and Development Institute, Fursatganj include the following air-conditioned classrooms equipped with LCD, multimedia notebooks, O/H projectors, cordless microphones, and speakers; air-conditioned auditorium equipped with a recording system, overhead LCD, dais, solar lights and sound systems; an open-air amphitheatre; an expansive seminar hall; an international in-campus design studio; air-conditioned computer laboratory, CAD/CAM lab, Design labs, Cutting/Closing lab; workshop rooms; both traditional and digital libraries; a sports complex and hostels separate for boys and girls.

Admission Procedure

Two undergraduate courses (B.Des) are offered by Footwear Design and Development Institute, Fursatganj. All candidates for undergraduate admissions must submit an online application for the FDDI All India Selection Test (FDDI-AIST), followed by counselling. Each and every qualified applicant would need to pass a test (Paper Based Test) given by FDDI. Only English will be used as the test's medium. All qualified candidates must appear at the examination centres they select for the written entrance examination in the city of their choice. The written admission exam aims to evaluate candidates' knowledge, aptitude, and suitability for the chosen program. 

Faculty

Placements

All Footwear Design and Development Institute campuses participate in a centralised campus placement procedure run by the FDDI, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The Institute's students receive important career counselling and guidance from the Placement Cell. FDDI Fursatganj, has so far had a success rate of 100% for job placement. Before completing their education at FDDI Fursatganj, all students receive job offers.



Scholarships

According to the procedures and qualifying requirements, students from all Footwear Design and Development Institute campuses are eligible to apply for scholarships given by government (central and state) agencies. There are no scholarships available from FDDI. FDDI processes and forwards the scholarship applications of the eligible students to the applicable agencies.
