UPSC CSE 2024: Application Procedure, Exam Date, Syllabus, Eligibility, Pattern, and Admit Card

UPSC CSE 2024 Application Procedure

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) publishes a complete Civil Services Examination notification on its official website (www.upsc.gov.in) and in key newspapers. The notification includes all the important information, such as exam dates, eligibility requirements, syllabus, application process, and other pertinent information.

One-Time Registration (OTR)

Candidates must submit their applications online through the website (www.upsconline.nic.in). Prior to filling out the online application for the exam, the candidate must first register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, which is accessible through the Commission's website.

OTR registration is required in order to apply online for several UPSC examinations and is only required once in a person's lifetime. One Time Registration does not constitute an application for any test. It merely involves gathering application-specific data and providing each candidate with a unique dashboard so they may manage their own profiles. Payment of any fees is not necessary in order to register for the OTR. The same password provided in the OTR should be used by any candidate wishing to submit an online application for a UPSC-advertised examination.  The candidate's registered email address and phone number will receive their OTR ID. The candidate's application may be refused or revoked if they use more than one OTR ID.

Information to be provided by the candidate while registering for OTR:

  • Name and verification of the same

  • Full name, if any

  • Gender and verification of the same

  • Date of Birth and verification of the same

If the candidate wishes to update his or her OTR profile, he or she may do so only once in his or her lifetime after registering on the OTR platform. The modification in OTR profile data will be available for 7 days following the close of the application window for his/her initial final application for any Commission Examination.

The candidates should submit a fully completed, printed copy of the application form to their respective Ministry or Department, who will send it, after proper verification and certification, along with a copy endorsing the Commission, to the concerned Cadre Controlling Authorities well in advance. This will allow the CCAs to send the applications to the Commission by the specified deadline, after conducting proper due diligence regarding the eligibility of the candidates.
