What is the UCEED 2025 examination pattern?
The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) has one question paper with a total time limit of 3 hours. The examination is conducted entirely in English. A total of 300 marks is awarded for the question paper. There are two parts to the exam: Part A and Part B. It is required to attempt the questions from both sections. An error-free question paper is prepared with the utmost care. But if a mistake is found in the question paper, the UCI Committee will decide appropriately after the test, and that judgment will be definitive.
The two parts of the question paper are detailed below:
Part A (Total marks: 240; Maximum time: 2 hours 30 minutes) - This section comprises a computer-based test and is divided into three sections.
-
Section 1: 18 questions in NAT (Numerical Answer Type) (4 marks each; no negative marks). The response to these questions is a number that must be input into a virtual keyboard on the computer screen and is set in a Non-MSQ format.
-
Section 2: 18 questions in an MSQ (multiple select questions) format. Each MSQ may have one or more correct answers among the four options provided.
-
Marking Scheme:
-
Full Marks: +4 If all the chosen options are incorrect
-
Full Marks: +4 If three correct options are chosen instead of four
-
Partial Marks: +2 If three or more options are correct but only two are chosen
-
Partial Marks: +1 If two or more options are correct but only one is chosen
-
Negative Marks: -1 For all other cases
-
Section 3: 32 MSQs (3 marks each for the right answer; 0.71 minus points for the wrong answer) were presented. There will be four possible answers for each MSQ, but only one of them is accurate.
Part B (Total marks: 60; Maximum time: 30 minutes) - This section comprises just one question designed to assess the candidate's drawing abilities and will necessitate subjective judgement. The response to the question in Part B must be written or drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only. The question will be displayed on the computer screen. Assistance in attempting Part B is not allowed for PwD candidates using a scribe because the question is meant to gauge the candidate's drawing ability. The Part B answer books will be collected after the test. Part B question is compulsory.
The entire paper (including Parts A and B) must be completed within the time frame specified for each portion.
