About NIFTEE 2024

The National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) is a test administered by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) that consists of two parts: computer based General Ability Test (GAT) and paper based Creative Ability Test (CAT). The test will entitle the eligible candidates to register for any undergraduate and postgraduate courses (B.Des/B.F.Tech/M.Des/MFM/M.F Tech) offered by the NIFT campuses. 

The candidates applying to B.Des programmes will be required to take an entrance examination that includes a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and a General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates based on the examination will be required to take the Situation Test and a Personal Interview (PI).

Candidates for the B.F.Tech programme will sit only for the General Ability Test (GAT). The candidates for the M.Des programme are required to take both the CAT and GAT. And for the M.F.M. and M.F.Tech programmes, the candidates will be required to appear for only the GAT and a personal interview.

NIFTEE 2024 Important Dates

The dates that candidates must mark on their calendars and monitor for relevant updates are listed in the table below:

The candidates should complete their application procedure within the above-mentioned dates without fail with the required online application fee of INR 3,000 (INR 1,500 for reserved categories) using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. In case of late application (applying in the duration of the “extended deadline”), candidates need to pay late fees of Rs.5000/- (in addition to the applicable application fee).

NIFTEE 2024 Application Procedure

The candidates must complete a few procedures for the application, such as filling out the application form on the official website with valid and verified information, after which the admit card will be generated. The candidate must download and print their admit card in order to show up for the exam while fully adhering to all the rules and regulations.

The steps to apply for NIFTEE that the candidates must follow are:

• Create a Login ID with Aadhar Card number.

• Fill the Application Form.

• Upload required documents.

• Pay the application fee

How to apply for NIFTEE 2024?

The following is a detailed elaboration of the process: 

Step 1

The candidates should navigate to the application tab. A registration form will be shown. The candidates must provide their AADHAR Number. The following information must be filled out by NIFT 2024 applicants following the successful verification of their AADHAR number: 

• Parents' names, Email, and Phone Numbers. 

• An acknowledgment will be sent to the registered email address after the successful submission of the information. (It is important to note that the information entered when creating the login ID cannot be changed afterwards.) 

Note: The email address and mobile number provided by the candidate upon registration will be used for future correspondence regarding the online application, admit card, and so forth (till the admission process is over).  

Step 2

Next, the candidate must enter the brand-new account and complete the following information: 

• Exam Location: The candidate must choose the test location (atleast 3 cities)

• Personal information: such as the names of one's parents, gender, country, domicile, and so on. 

• Correspondence address. 

• Academic Background

Step 3

The candidate must then upload their signature and photograph in the format specified below:

• Photograph- Recent, colored passport-size picture; JPEG format; not more than 100KB

• Signature- Scanned Signature in blue/black ink with white background;  JPEG format; not more than 100KB

Step 4

This is the last stage in the application process. The application fee must be paid online using a credit card, a debit card, or through net banking.

• General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category- INR 3,000

• SC/ ST/ PwD Category- INR 1,500

NIFTEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate who has completed their higher secondary examinations with qualifying marks (in any stream) is eligible to apply for the NIFT Entrance Examinations, which are divided into two sections, with the selected candidates being subjected to a Personal Interview and Situation Test. This test will serve as the basis for the final results for candidates to any NIFT undergraduate program.

List of qualifying examinations for NIFT Entrance Examination 2024

• The candidate must have passed the 10+2 test/final year/final semester at a renowned institution.

• Passed the Senior Secondary School Examination administered by the National Open School with a minimum of five courses.

• Completion of the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) leve / International Baccalaureate (IB)

• B.F.Tech. from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)/ from any Institute / University recognized by law in India  

Reservation of Seats for NIFTEE 2024

NIFTEE 2024 Syllabus

NIFT Entrance Examination has two sections namely Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). The syllabus for both CAT and GAT is decided by the NIFT. Topics for the tests are mentioned below:

NIFTEE 2024 Examination Pattern 

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has released the NIFT Entrance Exam pattern of 2024. The General Ability Test (GAT), which is required for all programs, and the Creative Ability Test (CAT), which is required for candidates applying to any undergraduate/postgraduate courses, are the two components of the NIFT written exams.

These tests are the first stage of the two-stage NIFT admissions procedure. Shortlisted candidates will thereafter be required to participate in a Situation Test or Personal Interview (depending on the program opted for admission). The situation test (20%), CAT (50%), and GAT (30%) will all be given weight when preparing the final score.

NIFTEE 2024 Results

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will announce the results of the NIFT 2024 entrance exams (CAT and GAT) in March 2024 (tentative).  The candidates are to log in to the NIFT result portal using their email address and password to view the results. The outcome would include information such as the candidate's name, GAT scores and CAT scores for the candidates, overall marks, category, and program of interest.  The written test results (or scores) were used to narrow down the field of candidates for the following phase, which involves a Personal Interview and a Situation Test for the B.Des program. The performance of the candidate in the written test and the Situation Test would be taken into account while preparing the final results.  

NIFTEE 2024 Outcomes

Qualifying in the NIFT Entrance Examinations enables candidates to apply for any of the undergraduate as well as postgraduate programs at participating NIFTs across India. The final outcomes of the selection will be determined by entrance tests, followed by a situation test, after which the chosen candidates will be permitted to apply for the programs.
