IAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the IISER Aptitude Test can vary depending on the specific exam and the institution conducting it. However, in general, to be eligible to take the IISER Aptitude Test, a candidate must have completed or be in the process of completing their 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least three subjects among Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Candidates belonging to the general category must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in class XII. (SC/ST/PwD candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grade in class XII)
Performance Criteria in Qualifying Examination
-
Candidates whose class XII results haven't been declared yet were also eligible for applying for IAT 2024. However, their admittance will be subject to meeting the minimal eligibility standards outlined above.
-
If a candidate has appeared for the class XII examination for the first time in 2022 but has reappeared for a particular subject in 2023, then the better marks out of both will be selected.
-
If a board awards aggregate marks based on both Class XI and Class XII exam results, only Class XII (or equivalent) exam results will be considered. If a board awards aggregate scores for all three years of a three-year diploma or courses of equal duration, only the grades earned in the final year will be considered. Similarly, for boards that use a semester system, the final two semesters' grades will be evaluated.
-
If a board only awards letter grades and does not include an equal percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should get a certificate from the board detailing the comparable marks and submit it before the mark sheet submission deadline.
